"KIAMSHA YOUTH EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION" uses peer pressure to teach teenagers abstinence from sex, drugs, and violence. All youth members of Kiamsha are trained to facilitate abstinence workshops, make presentations at schools and conferences, and refer teenagers to resources that address their needs. When teenagers see their peers teach the wisdom of abstinence, it increases their willingness to embrace abstinence as a viable alternative to sex, drugs, and violence.
To attract its ever-growing number of teenagers, Kiamsha offers social activities, the performing arts, speakers, and travel that takes their plays & workshops across the United States (most recently, Orlando, Atlanta, and Anaheim, California). Additionally, youth members of Kiamsha learn and socialize with each other in comfortable environments where peer pressure encourages productive behavior.
